Sister Shadow Part Two
In memory of Kerry Ann Mayr

"So are you going to help us?" John Crichton looked intently at Alana , his newly discovered sister-inlaw.

"Of course." She said directly and made a move to release her side arm.

"Commander Crichton, we have a small problem." Pilot's voice echoed from behind him.

"What is it Pilot?" Aeryn was the one to step up and ask.

"It seems, Moya can not close the bay doors." The pilot said mildly surprised.

"What do you mean she can't close the bay door, the drd's repaired that door." D'argo said, now stepping towards him.

"Actually the drds were called to another duty." Pilot replied simply.

"Rygel." D'argo huffed. "What did you do you little Hynerian toad?" He said grasping him from the ear, as so often everyone did.

"I didn't know her sister would show up with peacekeepers, how the yutz was I suppose. I needed my bunk repaired." He squealed.

"Got ta, get that rest sparky, you might have just made it permanent." John replied. "Are the prowlers docking on Moya?"

"Yes there are two already in the process." Pilot said his arms quickly and effortless moving over his control center.

"Zhaan, call the kid tell him we need help." John said as he turned to his kid and picked her up. "Time for you to play with pilot." John said heading from Moya's command.

Aeryn started to follow, when her sister caught her arm . "Aeryn I really didn't know."

"Like John said, then help us." She pulled free to find her husband and daughter.

"Oh, come on Tayln, I wasn't on the planet for very long." Chianna said as Tayln's flashing red lights complained at her long absence. She had been shopping as usual and it didn't amuse Tayln anymore then it did any of the others on Moya.

Tayln's lights continued to flash, giving Chianna cause to believe there was more then her absence to complain about. She walked over to the control panel and switched on the communicator. Zhaan's voice flooded Tayln's command. "Chianna, where are you?" Her voice pleaded .

"Zhaan, I 'm here, what's......" Chianna's voice trailed off as Tayln began starburst, throwing her and her packages to the command floor. "Frell." She said as her packages collided all around her.

John handed Arianna over to Pilot. "Pilot.."

"I will protect her with my own life." He said as the little girl with the black bobbing ponytail was placed into his arms. "Thank you Pilot." Aeryn said moving towards him to brush one of his arms.

"You do as Pilot says." John ordered to his daughter.

"Yes, I will." She smiled bravely, even though she wished she was still in bed, suddenly it didn't so bad to be there.

"We'll be back." Aeryn said knowing her daughter's thoughts as if they were her own.

"You ready?" John turned to Aeryn.

She nodded and they left pilot's chamber.

Pilot had placed Arianna beneath his control panel, she looked up at him wide eyed. "I don't like this." She said softly. "I have never liked it Arianna Crichton." He said as he returned to his control panel.

"Well I just hope Mom and Dad kick butt fast, I'm suppose to be in bed." She said sternly and mostly to herself.

John, Aeryn, D'argo, Alana and Braden made their way down one of Moya's tiers, towards her bay. "Ok, Pilot now would be a good time to give us a location on our friendly neighborhood peacekeepers." John said into his communicater.

"John, I've made contact with Tayln." Zhaan's voice came over the communicator.

"Good news." John smiled.

"Commander Crichton, they are heading straight for your tier." Pilot replied.

"Bad news." John said losing the smile as he the others ducked behind a bend in the tier.

"What the frell." Chianna said as Tayln came out of starburst into a field of prowlers.

"Thank the Goddess." Zhaan said as she caught sight of Tayln through Moya's command view. No sooner had she said those words when one of the prowlers fired on Moya. The leviathan rocked from the blast, Zhaan grabbed hold of the command as did Rygel behind her.

"Did you see that Tayln." Chianna said through narrowing eyes. "Go get him. he hit your mother."

Tayln's guns flared at his sides and a maze of bright fire and blaze shot out through the darkness of space, turning that prowler and others into fireballs.

They had taken the peacekeepers by surprise, but the battle had just begun.

"Did they just fire on Moya." John yelled over blasts as he returned fire on the peacekeepers. "Are they freak in crazy, their own people are on here."

"They're peacekeepers Crichton." D'argo said as he swung around the bend firing.

"They're not trying to destroy Moya, only disable her." Alana said between blasts.

"That sounds better." John smirked.

"We can't keep this up." Braden said as he changed cartridges in his gun.

"Then lets not." Aeryn smiled and looked at her sister, who smiled and nodded back. Before anyone could say a word, Aeryn and Alana ran straight on into the blasts and fired continuously, managing to avoid the blasts and take out two peacekeepers as they dove into another bend of the tier.

"Are you out of you freak in mind?" John yelled and swung back missing a blast, that flew right past his face.

"Not today." Aeryn smiled and so did Alana.

"Not today." John mimicked, "During a gun battle you decide to get funny." He swung around firing. "You and I are really going to talk."

"Promise." Aeryn said as she to swung around firing.

"Sebecean women." John muttered to himself.

"Tell me about it." D'argo and Braden replied at the same time.

"Aeryn." Alana said. "The air duct." She looked over at the duct's grate.

"Sister Shadow." Aeryn smiled and they moved towards the air duct.

"Where the hell did they go?" John said when he no longer saw Aeryn or her sister.

"Frell." Braden muttered, when he couldn't see Alana.

"I hope they got a plan." D'argo growled. Blast fire all around them.

Aeryn slowly removed the grate and Alana, counted to three. They jumped down, taking the peacekeepers by surprise, they fired.

"Dammit." John swore as he saw Aeryn and Alana He , Braden and D'argo took the opportunity, the peacekeepers backs were turn, they stepped out and began firing.

Aeryn and Alana took yet another dive, when the men began to fire. By the time they straightened up it was over. The peacekeepers were all down.

Aeryn walked out followed by Alana. "Sister shadow." She smiled and they linked hands in victory.

"Nice Job." John said looking at Aeryn. "A little warning might have been nice." He said a little ticked.

Aeryn only raised her eyebrows and smiled.

An arn later they were all standing on Moya's command.

"How many things did you buy?" D'argo asked Chianna leaning in close.

"I think you should ask, what I bought." She smiled.

"Are they still angry with me?" Rygel asked Zhaan.

"Rygel, I am amazed that they haven't chosen to make space your new home." She replied softly.

"What will you tell high command, when you return?" Aeryn asked her sister.

"That we never came in contact with Moya, Tayln engaged us first." Braden supplied.

"Are you sure?" John asked them both. "There's always room for two more."

"We can be more help to you, if we keep in contact with the underground." Braden said.

"We'll take care of the other prowlers." John said thinking of Tayln and a little target practice.

"We've already checked them for transmissions, they never informed high command." Braden said.

"We will see each other again." Aeryn stepped close and hugged her sister, who was monetarily surprised. Emotions, especially public displays were unusual for her, but she returned the hug.

"Yes, we will sister shadow." Alana whispered.

"Quiet." Pilot said as John and Aeryn entered his chamber.

They walked up to Pilot softly and leaned over his control panel to see their daughter sound asleep.

"She's our kid all right." John whispered. "She's also got the right idea." He said sinking down to the floor.

Aeryn took a seat next to him, placing her head on his shoulder. "What did that whole sister shadow thing, mean?" He asked leaning his head against hers.

"Its the password we used to use, we would sneak through the air ducts, on what ever command carrier we were on, when were kids." Aeryn smiled at the memory. "When we reached a safe place, and would hide waiting for the other, we needed something to know it was each other."

"Not much family life." John said softly.

"I have one now." She smiled moving closer and closing her eyes and maybe someday she would have even more. Her sister.

The End.
