"Fame? Yeah. We couldn't go to a system without being trailed by thousands
of ships who envied us. I liked the attention." Talyn said. He was floating
in space near several quasars, looking quite handsome.
"I was actually the one who got us where we are today. I love Talyn and
Pilot. My creators would have been proud of my family. No matter what
happens, we'll always be there for each other. Always." Moya was tearful.
Well, sorrowful as a Leviathan can get, anyway. She hovered near a huge
fiery sun, glowing beautifully in its golden rays.
Pilot and the Leviathans started out in the inner systems of the Uncharted
Territories, playing for the few occasional weary travelers and patrolling
PeaceKeepers they encountered in their travels. They could barely afford
supplies, much less drums and amplifiers. They were talented musicians who
were a family first.
"Moya and Pilot have been together for over 3 cycles. I was born less than
a cycle ago. I was in the band since the day I was conceived really. But
once I got out of mom, I was a bat out of Hezmana!" Talyn laughed slyly.
"Talyn. Oh Talyn. That little dren head." Moya laughed.
"We're bonded for life really. No matter what dren we encounter. For life."
Pilot stated dramatically, staring straight into the camera.
The band began to grow with fame. Soon, everyone wanted them to appear down
on planets or in other solar systems far away. The band traveled monens
upon monens to vast territories; playing the music they loved so dearly.
Their first hit, "Starburst to Oblivion", became a titanium music chip in
less than three monens from their start as a group. They sold over 24
million music chips in the Uncharted Territories alone.
"'Starburst to Oblivion' was actually inspired by John Crichton. He stated
the song title during a near escape from PeaceKeepers a while back. We
couldn't shake the saying. We loved it. We wrote a song. And the song
became a hit." Talyn smiled proudly.
"We started out not being able to afford influescent fluid, amnexus fluid,
even outer casings to repair breaches in the Leviathan skin. Selling all
those music chips in such a short time70;the money was great. We just went
a little fahrbot on spending. I had a little gambling problem but Talyn
helped me out of it. Great buddy." Pilot stated, smiling at the fond
memories. He began to laugh. "One time, Talyn saved my eema good. He70;"
Pilot laughed more, unable to continue.
"The stars. Pilot and I always wanted to see the stars. Explore, you know?
Hezmana. We saw more than we ever could have imagined. The ride was great
in the beginning. Our talent was beyond anything the music agents had ever
heard. Really, what makes a Leviathan unique to music is the sound we
create when we spin. Frell that's half the reason why we're so popular. We
have a unique sound." Moya beamed.
"We were the best. We still are." Talyn stated, looking off. "No one really
knows what it's like to be the band. Partying, being recognized wherever
you went, fans everywhere70;. Peace and quiet was down the black hole but
the girls70;oh the girls. I love fame. I really do."
"Ha ha ha!" Pilot laughed uncontrollably. "Ha! I70;I'm sorry70;ha ha ha."
The music brought them closer70;and it also tore them apart.
"Talyn visited me at the med station and he was really upset. He had been
up drinking all that night. He told me the concert tour had been canceled.
I truly thought this was the end of our band." Pilot said sadly.
Darker times were in store for the space band. Stay tuned for the turn of
events that changed one member's life forever.
"Frelling PeaceKeepers. Everyone began to blame me. ME! For everything!
Hey. The PKs were the ones who really got me addicted. The fire was merely
an accident." Moya outraged.
"Moya and I were bonded physically. This is why I got sick. I felt the
affects of the drugs almost stronger than her. I was in the med station for
9 weekens. Talyn visited me at the med station and he was really upset. He
had been up drinking all that night. He told me the concert tour had been
canceled. I truly thought this was the end of our band." Pilot nodded his
head, biting his lip. He then shook his head. "Yeah, it all came crashing
in. I decided enough was enough. These five piercings I have are tokens of
a promise of 100 cycles of bonding." Pilot pointed to his piercings and
shook his head. "I requested an emergency permanent disconnection from
Moya. She wasn't happy."
"I was scared, you know? My mom was dying. My baby brother was dead. What
could I do? I felt helpless. Raslac helped me through some rough times. And
I played with PK2 to vent some anger." Talyn stated. He looked like he was
about to slam himself into a hard surface to release the anger.
"I really think that Moya started the fire herself. Talyn was drinking...I
wanted to separate from Moya. She wasn't happy. None of us really were. Of
course, we weren't singing anymore either." Pilot said. He cocked his head.
"The fans never left us. Our record sales never dropped70;even when we
stopped touring."
"I70;was real sick for a long time." Moya stated slowly. "A good part of me
was lost forever. I did and said a lot of things I shouldn't have. I didn't
know how to come back from that."
Several of the band's tour crew stayed on through the worst. Their support
was remarkable.
"They were young. Lots of dren happened. They made it through and are still
on top. How many space bands out there today could survive the dren they
went through? How many? Yeah, that's right70;none." John Crichton stated,
sitting cross-legged on a comfy cushioned chair at the Fellip Nectar Stand.
"The Fellip Nectar Stand is the biggest gathering place for space bands.
There's nowhere else you can find so many species and music agents. Pilot,
Moya, and Talyn all went there to score. It's the best place to blast up
Tavla, down infinite vats of Raslac, or even find some quality service."
Chiana informed, seated in the arms of D'Argo, who was smiling down at her.
She smiled back at him and they leaned in to kiss.
"Talyn was amazed by all the girls. He was outta control. He drank too much
and he procreated with females he shouldn't have. I tried to talk some
sense into him but you know I was really enjoying partying with him myself.
The girls and the booze were great." Jothee smiled.
"Pilot and the Leviathans! Pilot and the Leviathans! Everywhere you went."
Zhaan said with excitement, her legs crossed and her arms folded
comfortably as she floated in space at the stand.
When we come back, Pilot and the Leviathans regroup with a new big time
manager and get the break they have been waiting for.
They're as bland as they sound.
Spice 'em up with Amnexus Fluid!

"I felt for Pilot. Frell, I've got his DNA in me. I knew we had to get
together and help them." Aeryn said. She sat beside John at the stand, her
hand on his leg.
"Rygel70;Rygel is70;I found the slug in a money depository. He looked
promising at handling money. We hired him." Chiana stated.
"They introduced this royal Hynerian guy to us and we're thinking70;Oh
Hezmana. How are we gonna survive?" Talyn said with a chuckle.
"They're lucky I came along when I did." Rygel stated nonchalantly. He
smoked his cigar and smiled. "Rygel the sixteenth, Dominar and space band
manager, at your service."
"We got the best gig a space band could ever wish for thanks to Rygel. The
Fellip Nectar Stand. Billions of fans, all the important music
agents70;everybody who was anybody went to the stand." Pilot remarked. He
crossed all four of his arms and leaned back. After a long pause, he
abruptly shot forward, his eyes bulging and all four arms out in the air.
"We were gonna play at the Fellip Nectar Stand!!!"
"Yeah, I was nervous. We had to play at the Fellip Nectar Stand. Pilot
hadn't played since he left the med station, Talyn hadn't sung since
dropping from PK2, and I hadn't spun a complete circle since the fire
really. Were we really back?" Moya questioned.
"The performance was frelling amazing. There were females everywhere,
screaming their heads off. They loved us." Talyn stated with excitement.
"The fans. I couldn't believe all the fans. And I met the love of my life
at that performance." Moya said. She glowed in happiness at the thought of
her Leviathan love.
Pilot and the Leviathans played before a record audience at the Fellip
Nectar Stand just two monens after nearly ending their existences all
together. Several music agents approached to offer record deals, tours, and
money. Just two cycles in the business and the band was the hottest space
band ever. Coming up, Pilot and the Leviathans become regulars at the stand
and settle into fame.
"They've got all the merchandise on us. Action models, uh, murals,
holo-chips70;you name it, they have it." Pilot stated, counting down the
items on his claws.
"Pilot's getting another piercing. That promises twenty more cycles." Moya
smiled. "I met Antarus, the love of my life at the stand. I wanted him to
join the band but knowing our past and everything, we decided he should
stay behind the scenes. He's assistant space manager now."
"Mom's happy. Pilot's happy. I'm happy. We're all happy." Talyn chuckled.
He was snuggling up against another young female Leviathan.
"We've got an interstellar tour coming up in a monen. Three more record
deals and a Battle of the Space Bands event at the end of the cycle. Things
are looking excellent thanks to me." Rygel stated. He chuckled and winked
at the camera.
"We couldn't be happier for them. Really." Aeryn stated with a shrug. She
looked back to John.
"They still say they haven't heard of my species. How can they not? 500
billion music chips? Universal fame? Come on!" John said, throwing up his
arms.
"The greatest band I've ever heard. You've gotta hear 'PK Wartime'70;it's
their best yet. No wait, 'Uncharted Wrath'70;that's the best one. Or maybe
it's 'Wormholes' featuring John Crichton. I can't really be sure." D'Argo
said.
"'Wormholes'. Definitely. Though, we sure do like 'Rock my Ship', don't we
D'Argo?" Chiana and D'Argo giggled. The screen switches to Rygel.
"You can reach me at70;" Screen switches to the entire tour crew and band
settled at the Fellip Nectar Stand after hours.
"Pilot and the Leviathans. Pilot and the Leviathans. I love the sound of
that." Zhaan said, beaming with pride.
"We're gonna rock this universe for cycles to come. Nothing's going to
change that. Those first two cycles70;we were young. We had to get it out
of our systems. We needed to experience life." Pilot explained. He had his
arms around Moya and Talyn.
"When we hit the 1,000 music chips mark, I'm gonna go to the Scorpions and
spike 'em with my starburst tail! In your face Scorpions!" Talyn laughed
and shouted into the camera.
"I owe everything to these guys. It's all about the music." Moya stated.
Pilot and the Leviathans gather on stage at the stand and perform their
latest hit, 'Leviathan Bonds' for Behind the Band, their tour crew, and all
the fans listening on the frequencies.

I hope you enjoyed this rendition of Behind the Band and the behind the
scenes look at Pilot and the Leviathans. Stay tuned for a sequel sometime
down the road, entitled Battle of the Space Bands.
397 Billion music chips sold in their first cycle created the biggest hype
in rock music since the Mella Asteroid Fields. The talented musicians of
the most famous, popular band of the Uncharted and Known Territories were
on their way to conquering Unknown galaxies. Fame and fortune became
instantaneous. But the tragic events just two cycles into their success
nearly disintegrated them all. Behind the Band presents the best space band
of all time, Pilot and the Leviathans.
* * * * * *INTRO FLASHES* * * * * *
[If the bboard and other low-tech Internet places could display images,
this is where they would appear. Flashing scenes of the band members and
their performances fly past your vision. Flash of the three band members
rocking on a ring of a large bluish-green planet. Pilot is dressed in pure
black leather, pierced in his shell head are five mini biomechanoid parts
from Moya. Talyn and Moya, the Leviathans, are smothered with a luminescent
glowing material and they both bear tiny clippings near the back of their
starburst tails. Talyn is singing and Moya is backing him up and swirling,
creating a soothing sound unique to Leviathans. Pilot is drumming on a huge
collection of drums much like Earth drums and rocking his head to the beat.
A few still pictures display the band members gathered together and holding
up a shiny metallic music chip. Another picture displays Moya burned on a
portion of her outer skin. A final picture flashes, displaying the three
rocking within the sparkling debris of a star nebula, and all three are
smiling.]
* *We return from the intro* *
"We were frellingtastic. Fans from places we'd never knew existed. Even our
rivals, The Scorpions, envied us. Dren." Pilot paused as he sat at the
large couch-like pad at the Fellip Nectar Stand. He rubbed his five
piercings and continued on. "Then Moya became pregnant. That was just the
beginning. We're still blessing Zhaan's goddesses that we're here today."
* *Kitty litter for your Vorlac. They really like it!* *
After several months in the mainstream of fame, the band members succumbed
to sex, drugs, and alcohol. Talyn and Moya were arrested for possession of
twenty shiploads of illegal substances. They traded in the name and
location of their dealer for a lightened sentence. The two Leviathans
received two clippings on their starburst tails, permanently preventing
them from starbursting 8,000 hetches or more. Pilot was admitted to a med
station after being found in a PeaceKeeper compound, drugged and fighting
for life. The group separated and went to pursue their music individually.
Pilot recovered at the med station. Talyn played with "PK2" and became an
alcoholic. Moya became pregnant during a second stay under PeaceKeeper
control. She happily carried her new child for almost 5 weekens before
losing him to a mysterious fire that consumed over a third of her body.
Moya was close to death.
* *Food Cubes. Food Cubes. Food Cubes.
At just one cycle, Pilot and the Leviathans had climbed to the top of fame,
leaving a trail of hard times and devoted fans questioning their future. A
record 397 billion music chips had been sold and over twenty of their songs
were number one on the frequency channels. Yet, the band wasn't touring or
even playing anymore. The tour crew traveling with the band proved to be an
amazing support group. They gathered together and brought the band back to
the frequencies. A new manager was hired and the band got their biggest gig
yet at the infamous rock bar, the Fellip Nectar Stand.
* *The Fellip Nectar Stand. Fun, Raslac, and Frelling Good Music.* *
Entering into 3 cycles, Pilot and the Leviathans have come a long way from
the bottom. They're stronger than ever and continue to prove it by selling
just under 500 billion music chips of their 4th album, up to date.
