The Demon Part 5: I am John Crichton!

“For the last time Aeryn, I am John!”, said Tailex in an unfamilailar non-mono-tone voice. “How can we be sure, you look and sound like Tailex”, said Aeryn. “We switched bodies, it isn’t the first time this has happened”, said Tailex. “Then tell us something that Tailex wouldn’t know”, said Aeryn. D’argo and Rygel were in the room observing the interrogation. Tailex was strapped to a chair, and his arms and legs were shackled.

“I am John Robert Crichton Jr., my father is the senior, but everybody calls him Jack. I am from a planet called Earth, were microts are called seconds, cycles are called years, and dren is s*#t. I was born in North Carolina but was raised in Houston Texas. I was married to Katralla, who I secretly had a daughter with her, and I am the rightful regent of the Royal Planet. Need I continue?” asked Tailex. “Or do I have to add that the real John Crichton wouldn’t have stabbed Pip and flown off in Tailex’s ship”, he added.

“He could be John”, said D’argo. “Don’t fall for his tricks, we know next to nothing about Tyreens” said Aeryn. “If I was Tailex, wouldn’t I have teleported out of this chair by now?” asked Tailex. “Maybe you can’t”, said Aeryn. “We don’t have time to be frelling around, every microt we spend here, Tailex gets further away. The group looked confused. “All right, lets call him Crichton, whoever he is, he has Chiana and is heading for the Sea of Eden”, said Tailex.

“Where the hezmana is that?” asked D’argo. “Remember I am John, not Tailex, I have no frelling idea”, said Tailex. “Perhaps we should ask around Terminia about the Sea of Eden?” he added. “Right, I’ll go”, said Aeryn leaving. “Take Sparky with you”, he added.

He looked at D’argo. “You believe me buddy, don’t you?” asked Tailex. “Yeah, John never would have stabbed Chiana”, said D’argo. “But, whenever we catch up with him, who’s ever body he’s in, I will cut him in two”, he added. “Don’t worry, if I see me again, I will dump an entire clip into his ass”, said Tailex. “I truly believe that Chiana’s alive”, said Crichton. “But now were both separated from the women we love”, said Tailex. “Aeryn will never love me in this body, and it will take along time for y’all to trust me”, said Tailex. “There has to be some way to prove to the others that your John”, said D’argo. “Zhaan, we shared unity, she should be able to tell”, said Tailex. “Good, I’ll go get her, she’s meditating”, said D’argo. “Mind getting rid of at least some of these restraints?” asked Tailex. D’argo popped off the straps, but he was still shackled. “Sorry, John, I don’t trust you that much, I will also lock the door”, said D’argo. He walked out and locked the door.

Tailex stood up and looked around the room. He couldn’t walk because of his leg shackles. Jothee unlocked the door and entered. He was holding a pendant. “Hello Tailex”, he said in a monotone voice. “Actually, I’m Cr….” Tailex was cut off. “Crichton wishes to speak to you”, said Jothee. He opened the pendant and placed it on the floor A hologram of Crichton appeared. His eyes were solid black. “Hello again Tailex”, he said in a monotone voice.

“Your Tailex, I am Crichton!” exclaimed Tailex. “Nonsense”, said the black eyed Crichton. “You are Tailex, your memories of being Crichton are false”, he added. “You have always been Tailex”, said Crichton.

He smiled. “Of course in your memories, Aeryn never truly reciprocated your affections or favors”, said Crichton. “I know you desired her greatly”, he added. “If it had been me, I would have”, he paused. “Forced, the issue”, he said checking his wrist weapon. “I would never”, said Tailex. “Dren, I know a sociopath like you is capable of it”, said Crichton. “You considered it when you were under the control of T’raltixx”, he added. “I believe that we believe the same thing”, he added. “Rape is the ultimate dishonor a PeaceKeeper can experience”, he said. “And since she will never trust you in that body, it will be your only chance at romance”, he said.

But don’t worry, I will do to her what you never had the guts to do”, he said. “I imagine that we will be meeting any minute now”. “Leave her the hell alone, this is between you and me”, said Tailex. “Exactly, I said that I would enjoy making you suffer” replied Crichton. “Touch her and you’re a dead man, even if you are me!”, said Tailex. “You owe me your life Tailex, it is not honorable to kill me now”, said Crichton. “You were the sniper back at the slave auction!” exclaimed Tailex. “Correct, I couldn’t afford for this body to fall into PeaceKeeper hands”, replied Tailex.

“Why would you trade an immortal body for the most wanted man’s in the galaxy?” asked Tailex. “You’ll have to find out yourself, I have a date with Sunshine”, said Crichton. The hologram faded and Jothee picked up the locket.

“You still working for him kid?” asked Tailex. The boy said nothing and left, leaving the door wide open. “I gotta save Aeryn”, said Tailex hopping quickly towards the door. He saw a welding torch on the floor. He hopped to it.

Aeryn looked around the crowded bar on Terminia. It was filled with Sebaceans and horrible techno music. It was almost as bad as the PeaceKeeper music created by machines. She stared at her shot glass full of blue liquor; the bartender wouldn’t speak to her unless she bought a drink. Rygel was checking out the other bar in the city.

“I am looking for information on a place called the Sea of Eden”, she asked over the music. “Sorry, can’t help you” he replied. “I only know of the Dead Sea, a haunted space phenomenon, no one goes there”, he said. “Haunted?” she asked. “Yes, a city of monsters frozen in time”, he said. “They think that it used to be a planetoid before something bent it into a flat mass”, he added. “Know anyone who can give me directions?” asked Aeryn. “You might want to ask that Sebacean traveler in the black coat, he rented the private dinning area”, said the bar tender pointing to a door.

She walked through the crowds to the sturdy door. She opened the door and shut it behind her. A large window opened to a grassy field. Crichton stood in the corner. He seemed to stand differently; his piercing black eyes stared at her. “Hello Sunshine”, said Crichton with a smile.

“John?” she asked hesitantly. “Yeah, it’s me”, he replied. “Glad you could make it”, he added. “What happened at the fort?” asked Aeryn, keeping her distance. “I realized that Pip was going to sell us out, along with Sparky, Zhaan, and D’argo”, he said. “Tailex is a mercenary, he must be working for someone other than the PeaceKeepers who wants me”, he said. “Who?” she asked. “Scarrens or maybe Royals from the Royal Planet”, he said. “They plan to kill you because they know you will never betray me”, said Crichton. He grabbed her and nearly threw her into himself.

“I missed your embrace”, said Crichton putting his arm around her waist. He was surprised that she hadn’t attacked him yet. “Now, we can be together, run away from here”, he said. She stared into his eyes. She began to squirm. “What’s the matter?” he asked. “Your eyes, their black”, she said. “Of course they are, they have always been”, he said. He put his hand on her cheek.

Pictures of Crichton flashed through her brain. His eyes were all black in every scene. A scene came in. “…They’re better than 20/20 and they’re black!” he said. Several key moments in her memory popped up. Suddenly, she flashed to the moment when she saw the hologram of his child with Katralla, the male one. She remembered that they had the same eyes. His were black, the child’s were blue! The eyes in the dream went back to blue, and the flashbacks began reversing and turning back to normal. She came back to reality, his lips on hers.

She broke the kiss, and head butted him. She threw his arms away and kicked him in the best, flinging him against the near by table. She drew her pistol but he quickly knocked it from her hand with a 360 kick. He palm struck her in the face, and knocked her down. As she sat up, he got on top of her, and his wrist weapon popped out slightly from his sleeve. It was barley away from her throat.

“I tried to get what I wanted the nice way, but you had to play hard to get”, said Crichton frustrated. “We have known each other for 2 cycles, and you still won’t express your love for me physically”, he added. “I have waited long enough, and myself control is gone”. “This body is much more sensitive than I am used to”. “It’s like being reborn, the galaxy seems new, all the sensual senses are so superior”. He brushed her cheek with his hand. “Touch, smell, and taste”, said Crichton about to kiss her unwilling lips. “The ultimate humiliation”, he said.

The window busted and Tailex came jumping through. He kicked Crichton off her and readied his pulse pistol. A quick leg sweep by Crichton brought him down. Crichton almost teleported to his feet and pointed his arm at Tailex before he could raise his gun. “I will enjoy watching you die Tailex!”, exclaimed Crichton. “My name, is Crichton”, exclaimed Tailex.

By now Aeryn was standing and was pointing her pistol at Crichton. “Shoot him Aeryn”, demanded Tailex as he though about Gileena and Scorpious. “Why would she shoot the love of her life?” asked Crichton “Both of you shut up!”, she yelled. She stared at Crichton. “All right Crichton, what’s the big secret that we have been hiding from the crew?” she asked. “What?” asked Crichton. “The thing we sweared on”, said Aeryn.

“Oh”, he paused. “Were compatible, I mean you and Crichton are”, said Tailex on the floor. She gave a glare at Crichton. “You know, the real Crichton is a better kisser”, said Aeryn.

Crichton dove for the broken window as a red blast flew were his head had been. He rolled and got back to his feet and began sprinting for his large ship in the grassy field. Tailex and Aeryn both opened fire with their pistols as they ran after him. Aeryn saw a red dot on Tailex’s chest. She tackled him just as a glowing black bolt of energy flew above them. A feminine figure followed Crichton up the Disembowler’s ramp. The massive engines of the ugly back ship began to fire up. It blasted into the night sky.

Aeryn tapped her comm. “Pilot, track Tailex’s ship, Tailex and I are returning”, said Aeryn. Tailex jumped into the Farscape One as Aeryn blasted off in the Prowler. “Bitch, get back here!” screamed Rygel on his floating chair. He must have been on his way back. He held a large beer-like bottle. “Sparky, get in!” ordered Tailex. “Ahhh Tailex!”, exclaimed Rygel trying to float away. Tailex pointed his pistol. “Get in Buckwheat!”, ordered Tailex. Rygel floated in.

The modified module entered the hanger, and the Moya began after the Disembowler. D’argo and Zhaan monitored the pursuit. Aeryn joined them, lip bleeding. Suddenly, the Disembowler made quick 180 and came flying at Moya. “He’s charging weapons!” reported Pilot.

“All quantum torpedo launchers are armed and ready Fourth Deva”, said a female computer voice to Crichton. He was strapped into a small black leather seat in the small, dark bridge. A flight stick was in his right hand, and his left hand was on a touch screen marked weapons. A head set was around his head and an eyepiece was on his right eye. In side the eyepiece a crosshair locked onto Moya. “Sorry Tailex, your destiny ends here”, said Crichton pushing a button on the touch screen.

4 glowing white balls of energy flew at Moya. “Starburst now!” ordered D’argo. The leviathan quickly disappeared into a blue flash just as the torpedoes reached her.

Crichton looked at the torpedoes going into the void. “Computer, redirect torpedoes in flight to Terminia on the planets surface” said Crichton. An evil smile came to his face as the ship turned and the torpedoes fell to earth, towards the small city.
